Content Wars, YouTube Launching New Premium Channels

YouTube, which is owned by Google, is looking to bring high quality, unique content to their massively popular video service. YouTube announced the other day that they will be rolling out 96 new channels over the next year, the content of these new channels will be professionally produced and aimed at further challenging the traditional idea of how we view video entertainment.

It seems as though YouTube will focus on a wide range of topics for their new channels (Full list visible here), and they have called in some big names to make it happen; such as: The Onion, Tony Hawk, Slate.com, TED, Shaquille O’Neal, WWE, and a whole slew of others.
